Hawkshead: Part 1 of 2

The village of Hawkshead is a popular place to visit in the summer and gets very busy. This set of photographs were taken in April this year. Much quieter!

The Honeypot Deli - worth a visit.

Hawkshead Church - St Michael's and All Angels.

Looking out of the Church porch towards the village.
As can be seen, the Church stands high above the village.
Spotted in the Churchyard. (Pic - Lynda Braithwaite).

Cromarty: Part 2 of 2

There are many lanes ,or vennels as they are called, in Cromarty.

A 'Yes' supporter, plus a reflection of me!

Everywhere you look there seems to be a photographic opportunity.

A wee boat heading back to harbour.
A gull surveys the scene, high above Cromarty.
The old lighthouse with the rigs in Cromarty Firth behind.
Rigs in the Firth, with June snow on the mountain tops.
Ready for the next catch.
Left high and dry in this part of the harbour.

Cromarty: Part 1 of 2

Whenever we stay in the Inverness area, Cromarty is always visited at least once. The place is a particular favourite of ours - so peaceful. The above view shows the North and South Sutors at the entrance to the Cromarty Firth.
Across the Firth is the Nigg Fabrication Yard, where work is undertaken on Gas and Oil Rigs.
A typical Cromarty scene.

The Pantry.
The Cheese House.
You can safely walk down the centre of the roads in Cromarty, only meeting the occasional vehicle!
Window display.
The Hugh Miller Cottage.
The Paye.
A former Merchant's house.
Small, but colourful garden display.
Another view of the Sutors.
It was a sunny day in Cromarty.
Fluffy cloud in the sky.
